Greetings from Boston University Tanglewood Institute!
‘Tis the season when young musicians from all over the world step forward with courage to present their best efforts in applying to BUTI. Our first results will be sent in the coming weeks, and we will begin to enroll programs for our much-anticipated return to Lenox. BUTI is Back!
If you haven’t applied yet for summer study, don’t worry! With new programs like the Woodwind Quintet Workshop and the Composition Fundamentals Workshop alongside our flagship Workshop and Young Artists programs, there are many options to explore your artistry. Our priority deadline has passed, but we continue to accept applications until our programs are full, so don’t hesitate to start an application today.
In addition to our stellar faculty roster, the list of guest artists is continuing to grow for this summer. Founding members of Imani Winds will teach in the new Woodwind Quintet Workshop; composers Valerie Coleman, Jessica Meyer, and Nico Muhly will be our 2022 Visiting Artists; and Matthew DiBattista and Douglas Sumi will be in residence with the Young Artists Vocal Program. And that’s not all! There are many BUTI artists to celebrate, and we are proud to highlight them.
Look for our concerts on the Tanglewood Music Festival schedule and start planning your trips to Lenox now. We’re looking forward to being back on stage at Seiji Ozawa Hall again and remember, all BUTI students, faculty, and staff have unparalleled access to Tanglewood and all it has to offer. If you’re over 18 and interested in working for BUTI this summer, take a look at our Employment Page. We’re hiring for many staff positions and have faculty openings as well.
So please plan to join us this summer – either as a student, employee, or audience member. We’ll send updates on people, programs and events throughout the spring and look forward to sharing our return to the Berkshires with you!
