The College of Fine Arts School of Theatre invites all members of the BU student body to audition for the School’s upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim’s PACIFIC OVERTURES.
AUDITION DETAILS
Auditions will be held Wednesday, 10/9, from 5-6:30pm in the CFA TheatreLab at 855 Commonwealth. Please sign up for an audition appointment; a sign-up sheet is available outside the School of Theatre main office at 855 Commonwealth Avenue, 4th Floor.
Students should prepare a one-minute song from the musical theatre canon in the style of Sondheim’s work. An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music. A cappella auditions are not encouraged. Students should also be prepared to present a 1-minute contemporary monologue upon request.
Callbacks will be held on Columbus Day, Monday 10/14, from 10am to noon.

The authors of Assassins turn their attention to the East in this exploration of Japan’s Westernization. Told through the story of two friends caught in the inevitable winds of change, Pacific Overtures blends elements of Kabuki theatre with the conventions of the Broadway musical.
