Alumnus Wins Wagner Society of New York Prize

Clay Hilley

Clay Hilley (CFA OI ’11) is the most recent winner of the Robert Lauch Memorial Fund Award from the Wagner Society of New York. Hilley was a member of the Boston University Opera Institute. The official press release from WSNY is below:

“Tenor Clay Hilley, a Georgia native, is winner of the top award of $6,000, the Robert Lauch Memorial Fund Award, in the Wagner Society of New York’s 2015 awards to nine young singers with Wagnerian potential. Mr. Hilley has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music from the University of Georgia, a professional studies certificate from Manhattan School of Music, and a Performer’s Certificate from the Opera Institute at Boston University. His 2015-2016 appearances include Siegfried in Götterdämmerung (Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis), Radames in Aida at Baltimore Concert Opera and Opera Southwest. In April of 2016 he will appear with the Grand Junction (Colorado) Symphony Orchestra as tenor soloist for Verdi’s Requiem, and as Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer in November of 2016 with Austin Lyric Opera.”
